UW Global Nursing Scholars Program (Peru)
The Center for Global Health Nursing in collaboration with InterACTION Labs is proud to offer three 2-3 month experiences in Peru as part of the 2020 UW Global Nursing Scholars Program. Graduate nursing students (DNP/PhD) will be paired with nursing students and mentors in the largest city in the Peruvian Amazon (Iquitos) to carry out data collection for an existing OneHealth project in the floating urban slum of Claverito, as well as support implementation of a family-based parenting/public health intervention. Please note this experience comes with financial support. Selected scholars will benefit from this innovative international and inter-professional experience (other team members represent the fields of landscape architecture, environmental & civil engineering, dentistry, etc.) which will culminate in a formal presentation to the local health authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
